Vented Gas Inserts
Vented Gas Inserts
- Sit in an existing wood-burning fireplace. The fireplace does not necessarily have to be able to burn wood because inserts utilize their own liners which go up an existing chimney. This make Vented Gas Inserts a great option for those who have had their chimney condemned for wood burning: repairing a chimney can be dramatically expensive. Additionally, those who cannot burn wood cannot burn gas logs in their existing fireplace, so if you wanted to switch to gas and cannot do gas logs, you can have a Vented Gas Insert installed instead.
- Sealed systems so there is no draft and no exhaust or gas entering the room in which they are installed. Vented Gas Inserts utilize two liners: one exhaust and one fresh-air intake.
- Can use a variable fan and a remote which controls it, the flame height, and power. You can also hook-up the fireplace to the thermostat so that it shuts off/comes on at a certain temperature.
- Have a battery back-up so that in the case of a power outage, insert can be turned on (without fan usage).
- Provide heating in two ways: radiant, and fan-assisted convection. The glass on the from of the unit becomes extremely hot (up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit), radiating heat to you and your surroundings while the fan pushes heated air out into the room which then ascends, pushing colder air down to be heated.
